If this is your first child to be baptised, parents are required to attend a Baptism Preparation Course (in accordance with the Diocese of Broken Bay). The session is held on the first Sunday of every second month (e.g. February, June) and runs for approximately 45–60 minutes.
Before the Baptism, parents are invited to attend a weekend mass of their choice, usually 1–2 weeks beforehand. A short Presentation (welcoming) Ceremony will take place during that Mass.
At least one godparent must be:
-
A fully initiated Catholic (Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion)
-
Over 16 years of age
-
A Local Parish Permission Form is required when parishioners wish to receive a sacrament—typically Baptism —outside their home parish. It serves as written authorisation from the home parish priest, confirming approval for the sacrament to take place at another parish.

If you reside outside the parish boundaries, a Local Parish Permission Form signed by the Parish Priest of your home parish is required to be submitted.
A voluntary donation to the priest is customary and may be offered at your discretion.
