“Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the Church… and the prayer of faith will save the sick,
and the Lord will raise them up.”
James 5:14–15
Care for the Sick & Homebound
At North Harbour Parish, we hold close to our hearts all who are living with illness, frailty, or the challenges of ageing. Through the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, pastoral visits, and the prayerful support of our community, we strive to ensure that no one in our parish family feels forgotten or alone.
Anointing of the Sick
The Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of healing, strength, and peace. In moments of illness or vulnerability, Christ meets us with compassion and tender care. Through prayer and anointing, the Church surrounds the sick with the comfort of God’s presence. We celebrate Anointing Masses every quarter, offering a gentle and communal opportunity to receive this sacrament. 2026 📍 St Kieran’s Church | ⏰ 10:00am 🌿 Wednesday, 4 March 🌿 Wednesday, 3 June 🌿 Wednesday, 2 September 🌿 Wednesday, 2 December The sacrament is also available at any time. If you or someone you love would like to be anointed — at home, in hospital, or in aged care — please contact the Parish Office and a priest will be very happy to visit.
Pastoral Care for the Homebound
Many in our community are unable to come to Mass because of illness, frailty, or age — yet they remain very much part of the heart of our parish. Our clergy and pastoral care ministers visit parishioners in their homes, hospitals, and aged care facilities. These visits may include: ⚪Holy Communion ✝️Reconciliation 💧Anointing of the Sick 🤝Prayer and companionship If you or someone you know would appreciate a visit, please contact the Parish Office. We are always honoured to walk with those who cannot be with us physically at Mass.
Parish Sick List
Our parish community is committed to praying for those who are unwell. Each week, we publish a Parish Sick List in the bulletin so that the whole community can hold them in prayer. If you would like to include the name of a family member, friend, or someone you care for, please contact the Parish Office. Names are included with sensitivity and respect and can be removed at any time upon request.
